About Us

Welcome to Doorstep Donations! We are a dedicated group of students from the Honors College at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) who are passionate about making a positive impact on the world. Our mission is to make the process of donating easier and more accessible for everyone by picking up donations right from their doorsteps.

Founded in 2022 by a team of UIC students eager to make a change, Doorstep Donations has rapidly grown into a thriving nonprofit organization that has made a significant difference in countless lives. We believe that small acts of kindness can have a profound impact on our communities, and we aim to show the world just how simple donating can be.

At Doorstep Donations, we continuously rotate and create new projects to address various needs within our communities. Some of our project initiatives include:

Books: We collect and distribute books to schools, libraries, and other organizations to promote literacy and education domestically and internationally.

Clothing and blankets: We gather gently used clothing and distribute it to those in need, including homeless shelters, refugee centers, and low-income families.

Food: We partner with local food banks and pantries to collect and distribute non-perishable food items to fight hunger within our communities.

We take it one drive at a time, ensuring that each initiative receives the attention and resources it deserves, so we can make a meaningful difference in our communities.

Laith Rahahleh

Hello everyone! My name is Laith Rahahleh, a pre-med student at the University of Illinois Chicago. I have a great passion for helping those in need and massive goals of optimizing and revolutionizing the somewhat burdensome system of donation intake through Doorstep Donations and its incredible team members.

Shpetim Useini

My name is Shpetim Useini and I’m a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago studying biology with a minor in psychology. I grew up in Rockford, Illinois where I had a variety of awesome opportunities to give back to my community, and I hope to continue doing so through Doorstep Donations

Hello my name is Leann! I’m currently a second year at UIC. I am very passionate about donating what I can to help others and I hope to spread awareness about how easy and resourceful it can be!

Hi there! My name is Serena Rahahleh and I am currently in my last year in undergrad at the University of Illinois at Chicago studying to be an elementary educator! I believe that all children of all ages and backgrounds deserve to have access to different types of literacy which is why I decided to be a part of this team!
